Van is an attorney who mostly does family law and wants to keep the rate of divorce to minimum– or at least make dent in the stats. In 4 hours they give an overview as to what things an engaged couple should have at least started to talk about and work thru before they walk down the aisle. Well …needless to say Barry and I have been together for 14 years and we are still discussing and working it out. But that is what I left with the seminar with.. the default for marriage is that it will fall apart. You have to make an effort, make it a priority in your life and spend time on it and it will work. I would like to think that if I love someone so much why do I have to “work” on that relationship?– it should just come naturally. Whoops.. sorry not real!!
